Biography

Melissa Mann writes contemporary fiction, poetry and notes-to-self, which her self frequently ignores. She has also undertaken and published research into creativity in literature. To read her work or listen to the Melissanory Podcast Series, go directly to www.melissamann.com (do not pass go, do not collect £200 or be seduced into putting a hotel on the Old Kent Road.)
The selected
poems featured here are from her poetry collection Pink
Knitted Love/Hate Mittens. She
also has an anthology of short stories, The
A to FF of London which, like the poetry collection, is as yet
unpublished. Four of the stories from the anthology were short-listed for the
following: The Asham Award (2003, 2007), the London Arts New Writing Competition
2002 and The Harpers and Queen/Orange Prize for Fiction Short Story Competition
2001.
A Bradfordian, Melissa moved to London (or went over to the dark side) in 1996 where she now lives, writes and teaches Pilates to people who can be persuaded that there is no finer thing than to roll like a ball.
