Rally Cry
As a
‘Parent Against the War’
Rose Gentle
stands before
the crowd.
Close by, a family,
all here
for the rally
with a
picnic, plates on their knees –
a sit-in
with fruit teas.
She speaks
of fallen sons, the waste.
They nod,
pulling meat paste
rolls from
a Tesco bag for life.
She sees body bags for death, a half-life.
